About

Createus Group is a leading architectural design, project management and consultation firm based in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay.

The company is the formation of two well-known architectural design firms Bryan Musson Architectural Design and Andrew Whitney Architectural Design.

Our team is based in Business HQ in Queen Street Hastings. We have our own dedicated offices but the complex also boasts a range of businesses that are involved in the building industry.

Bryan and Andrew both hold Design 2 License that recognises they are competent to design buildings of Category 1 and Category 2. All license holders are required to work within their competence and skill level and seek advice when required. In addition all license holders are required to attend seminars and complete activities to keep up to date with the building code, building materials and design technologies which is all about staying on top of the game. Licenses are renewed annually and evidence of seminars and activities completed must be presented.

The Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) Scheme was introduced by the Building Act 2004.  Its purpose is to:

  • Ensure that buildings are built right the first time;
  • Improve the quality of homes and building in New Zealand;
  • Promote, recognize and support professional skills and behaviour in the building sector;
  • Increase and maintain consumer confidence in the building industry.

All Licensed Building Practitioners are:

  • Licensed to a class that sets a minimum standard of competence;
  • Identified on a public register and license cards;
  • Accountable to the Building Practitioners’ Board.

What we do

The design and construction of any building can be a daunting and complicated process. Our role as architectural designers is to make this process as simple and streamlined as possible.

We use our knowledge of Governmental and Territorial Authority requirements, materials, product and our design skills to create a building that fits the needs and budget of our clients.
