Puketapu School outdoor breakout space

The design brief was to create a covered outdoor space as an extension of the classrooms, to allow for an outdoor teaching space and also provide a covered seating area for children to eat their lunch. The space created provided functional area for both students and teachers to enjoy using with fixed seating arranged for each classroom. The structure was designed to make it a light and airy space. The additional covered area was designed to integrate seamlessly to the existing classroom block and require minimum maintenance.
